Automotive Cluster Looking at German Electromobility Practice

In Berlin at the invitation of the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce, the ACS and other Slovenian associations focusing on electromobility visited the Innovation Centre for Mobility and Societal Change (InnoZ) Berlin. There they were presented prospects for electromobility on the German market and Berlin's strategy in sustainable mobility and environment.

ACS director Dušan Bušen also met the representatives of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), where he spoke of the need for cooperation between the associations. Moreover, German experience in introducing electromobility in national action plans and the implementation of pilot projects was also discussed.

The visit to the Technical University Berlin, according to Bušan, opened an "interesting discourse" on electromobility in efficient and environmentally acceptable public city transportation, which is also valuable for Slovenia.

Some of the approaches used and the systemic concept of public-private partnership in general are a good basis for concrete solutions for Slovenia, wrote the ACS. Based on this it intends to propose an action plan for sustainable mobility and competitiveness of the Slovenian automotive industry until 2020 to the economy ministry in the next month.

A draft action plan is to be prepared in the following days and presented first to the relevant Slovenian companies and institutions for comments and improvements.
