Grounded Festival
Aug 22 - Aug 24 Ljubljana
Grounded, a festival of electronic music, critical thinking and activism which Rolling Stone Italia has recently declared the 15th best summertime music festival, will this year focus on racism.
The organisers, prompted to choose this topic by Hamas's attack on Israel last year, announced that racism will be discussed from the aspect of anti-Palestinian racism and decolonial resistance.
Several talks will be held featuring former Slovenian President Danilo Türk, Abir Kopty, a Palestinian journalist living in Berlin, and theoreticians Wafaa Alburai, Marina Gržinić, Primož Šterbenc and Grega Ulen.
The music part of Grounded will bring a number of Slovenian and foreign club acts, including Akiko Haruna, Turkana, Rama, and Slovenia's Luka Prinčič. The concerts will take place at clubs at the Metelkova counter-culture centre.
