Ljubljana – After dipping in 2020 due to coronavirus and lockdowns, Slovenian road haulage surged in 2021 to exceed pre-pandemic levels, Statistics Office data show. Lorries registered in Slovenia carried 98.9 million tonnes of goods and performed 25 billion tonne-kilometres, respectively up by 9% and 10%. While national transport accounted for 58% of tonnage, it represented only a tenth of tonne-kilometres. Measured by tonne-kilometres, domestic transport was up by 8% and international transport by 10%.
