Violeta Bulc, EU Comissioner for Transport, Slovenia, among winners of the 2015 Generali Alumni Achievment Award

At the Generali AAA Forum, taking place, December 11, at IEDC-Bled School of Management, in Slovenia, five winners of 2015 Generali Alumni Achievement Award (AAA) of IEDC-Bled School of Management were announced:

· Mioara Bolozan, Marketing Manager Romania of Whirlpool Romania srl, Romania.
· Violeta Bulc, EU Commissioner for Transport, Slovenia;
· Alexander Ryjov, Professor of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Russia;
· Alexey Minyaylo, Partners happiness director of "Games of the Future" non-for-profit organisation, Russia;
· Darko Mikec, General Manager of Damatech d.o.o., Slovenia.


On the occasion of being awarded Violeta Bulc, EU Commissioner, stressed: "Business education provides thinking frameworks, tools for daily use, global knowledge but above all, it provides an environment where leaders can practice multicultural behaviour, cross-border cooperation and diversified emergence of new ideas. IEDC is a small business school with a big heart... And this is so often the case with all successful and sustainable projects."

"We are proud that the Alumni Achievement Award which we launched in 2011, at the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of our school, became traditional and today we will award already for the fifth time five most successful IEDC alumni for demonstrating and representing the highest ideals that personify outstanding individual career achievements, leadership, innovation, service to the community, as well as the contribution to the school's development. We are very proud of conferring Generali AAA to selected alumni of IEDC, and it is my special honour to award Violeta Bulc." Violeta Bulc is an extraordinary woman, a true visionary, respected scientist, engineer, and entrepreneur. Throughout her business career, her drive for continuous development with research, her personal energy that moved every individual and company she worked for, her belief in every individual potential and community, took her on an impressive path from Slovenia to Silicon Valley and today to Brussels.

"Why is the Generali group partnering with IEDC in giving these awards? Because we believe they are highlighting individuals who are contributing to the positive development of the business environment and of the society", said Gregor Pilgram, CFO at the Generali PPF Holding and a member of the AAA jury. The jury is further composed of Dr. Peter Kraljič, member of the Supervisory Board of IEDC-Bled School of Management, Prof. Arnold Walravens, IEDC-Bled School of Management, and Ciprian Scrieciu, Managing Partner, Bomboniera Srl Craiova, from Romania. The jury is selecting winners from a number of nominations sent in by IEDC alumni around the world.

"I am glad that the award is becoming more and more recognised and prestigious and that its reputation is growing together with our Alumni network," stressed prof. Danica Purg, IEDC President. As IEDC had more than 75000 participants from 82 countries that went through different programs, Generali AAA is also given to foreign alumni of IEDC. This year award was conferred to Mioara Bolozan, Marketing Manager Romania of Whirlpool Romania srl, Romania, Alexander Ryjov, Professor of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Russia; and Alexey Minyaylo, Partners happiness director of "Games of the Future" non-for-profit organisation, Russia.

Among all 75. 000 participants, 4975 people from 74 countries hold the title IEDC Alumni (in 15 countries), because they completed longer programs (Executive MBA, GMP and Summer School programs) and as of this year also the PhD program. President of IEDC Alumni Slovenia is Melanie Seier Larsen, Principal, Boston Consulting Group.
