Tourists spent a total of EUR 3.587bn last year, with foreign visitors contributing EUR 2.41bn of that. Spending was up nearly 2% over the year before.

Foreign tourists paying day trips accounted for 58% of all spending by foreign visitors, according to the data.

Domestic tourists spent EUR 814m on tourist goods and services, of which day trips accounted for 57% of the total.
