With the first-series jump of 125 and the day's top distance of 132 metres in the second series, Prevc beat Freund by 11.1 points today. Norway's Kenneth Gangnes was third.

Prevc goes into the final event of the Four Hills Tournament almost 20 points ahead of Freund. Gangnes is in third, over 40 points adrift.

Prevc acknowledged he was nervous coming into the first series after a poor trial jump, but was then able to relax after he emerged at the top of the leaderboard in the first series.

The second jump was "one of the best jumps I ever had," he said after his 11th career World Cup victory.

In the World Cup rankings Prevc built up his lead on Freund to almost 200 points.

The final event of the Four Hills Tournament takes place in Bischofshofen, Austria, on Wednesday.
