The administrator will be collecting bids until 20 January for Probanka's claims to 29 entities worth between half a million euros and EUR 6.5m.

Among the entities are construction company CM Celje, the Koper municipality, conglomerate Istrabenz, the DZS holding, retailer Mercator and Engrotuš, the holding company of retailer Tuš, a release from the administrator reads.

Authorities ordered Probanka to wind down operations in September 2013 due to failing to meet capital requirements due to burgeoning non-performing loans.

Together with another small privately-owned bank, Factor banka, it was assigned a liquidation administrator by central bank Banka Slovenije.

There has been no official word on how the two banks will be wound down formally once the process of offloading the bulk of the valuable assets is completed.

The business daily Finance reported recently that the government has moved to have the Bank Asset Management Company (BAMC), the state bad bank, swallow up the remaining assets, but the government has refused to confirm this.
