Meanwhile, environment protection investments amounted to EUR 406m, a 7.2% rise over 2013. The environmental investments accounted for over 8% of all investments in 2014 amounting to a total of EUR 4.99bn.

More than 41% of funds in environmental investments went into waste water treatment, the data shows.

By region, 35.8% of the funds were invested in the Savinja region, followed by central Slovenia (28.9%) and Gorenjsko (8%).
