The pair highlighted the importance of good cooperation between the two countries and called for strengthening the already good economic ties.

The prime ministers agreed that the key to solving the refugee crisis was in better cooperation among countries, Cerar's office said in a press release.

They expressed concern that recent events and changes in migration policies in countries of destination could lead to increased bilateral tensions and subsequent destabilisation of the Western Balkans.

Orešković, who is on his first visit abroad in his capacity as prime minister, moreover expressed support to Slovenia's initiative to offer joint EU aid to Greece and Macedonia in mitigating the flow of migrants on the Balkans route.

"Prime ministers agreed on close cooperation in implementing the initiative both in operative sense as well as in light of the upcoming session of the European Council," the press release said.
