Women ski jumpers return to Ljubno for World Cup meets
The fifth edition of the World Cup meet at the revamped Savina Ski Jumping Centre will see two individual events on Saturday and Sunday.
The ambition of Slovenian competitors is high, as they are entering the weekend with six podium finishes overall.
Maja Vtič and Ema Klinec have three podium finishes each, with the 28-year-old Vtič standing third in the overall rankings with 538 points.
Slovenians will be actually looking to take their first podium finish at home, with Špela Rogelj and Katja Požun coming the closest so far (both 4th place).
Japan's Sara Takanashi has meanwhile all but secured the overall title, having won 1,180 points in the twelve World Cup events so far.
Slovenian team coach Stane Baloh said that his team did not bother with Takanashi's dominance. "Sara is strong, both physically and psychologically. But Sara is also a human, she can make mistakes too."
