This is the second World Cup victory for Slovenia after Špela Rogelj's success in Lillehammer in 2014. Rogelj was third today.

Vtič's two jumps of 91 metres brought her 267.7 points. The second place went to Sara Takanashi of Japan (91.5 m and 91.5 m; 263.2 points) and the third to Rogelj (87.5 m and 90.0 m; 258.7 points).

"I have been gradually improving results in the World Cup each season. I wasn't even nervous when I missed the podium a few times. I know I was slowly moving to the top," said Vtič.

"The first jump gave me additional energy. I knew I can make a good jump. I wasn't worried or nervous... I was only focused on making another such jump and I did it," she said.

The heroine of the day in Ljubno added that the Slovenian competitors had had the advantage of home crowd. "The fans give you additional energy."

This is the first podium result of Slovenia at the World Cup at home.

Rogelj too praised the support of the fans. "It's great. We don't get such support anywhere else." The 21-year-old added that it felt "incredible" to take the podium before the home crowd.

Katja Požun finished eighth, Nika Križnar 14th , Urša Bogataj 16th and Eva Logar 21st.
