Slovenia planning 16-year benchmark issue
"The issue is expected to be launched in the near future, subject to market conditions," the treasury said about the bond.
So far this year the treasury has only issued T-bills, with the early-February issue of 3- 6- and 12-month bills having negative interest for the first time.
Last year Slovenia issued 10- and 30-year bonds in July, subsequently expanding the 30-year issue in September.
The 10-year issue has interest of 2.251% and the 30-year bond sold with a coupon rate of 3.125%.
The treasury can borrow up to EUR 6.8bn this year according to government budgeting documents, which includes current borrowing and front-loading for next year.
Finance Ministry data show debt of EUR 4.6bn will fall due for repayment this year.
