A multi-instrumentalist, Taylor has been honoured with awards several times, including in 2009 when he received one of the highest recognitions for blues musicians, the Blues Music Award for his banjo playing.

After suspending his career in 1977, he returned to the music scene in 1995 and has since released 14 albums. His specific style of hypnotic music is often referred to as trance blues.

He is returning to Slovenia after performing in Nova Gorica in 2013.

The next two Afro-American musicians to perform at the Postojna Cave Blues Festival will be Corey Harris (7 April) and Alvin Youngblood Hart (26 May).

Festival manager Dragan Kiković has announced another two to three concerts for the autumn, including by electric blues guitarist Joe Louis Walker.

This is the only blues festival in the country. According to its organiser, company Postojnska jama, it has attracted around 20,000 visitors.

The festival has featured a number of big names over the past eleven seasons, including Sugar Blue, Byther Smith, Bluesbreakers, Roscoe Chenier, Sonny Rhodes, The Holmes Brothers, Nine Below Zero, Hans Theessink, Mississippi Heat, Ana Popović and many others.
