The plant will add the fourth-generation Clio model to existing production lines for the third-generation Renault twingo and second-generation Smart forfour city cars.

In announcing the return of Clio assembly to the plant as of February next year, Revoz said that it will present an opportunity for new hiring. The plant currently employs 2,100 people.

Revoz will begin to invest in adjustments to the assembly line in order to accommodate for the Clio immediately.

Renault made the decision to relaunch production of its popular super mini in Novo mesto due to rising orders and the inability by its current assembly lines in Flins, France, and Bursa, Turkey, to keep up with demand, Revoz said.

The Novo mesto plant had produced Clio models from 1993 until last year, but then focused on the joint Renault-Daimler project of building the Twingo and Smart forfour.

It had assembled nearly 1.5 million Clio II's from 2008 to 2015.

Revoz said that affecting Renault's decision to turn back to Revoz for the assembly of the Clio was its track record of good production results, high quality and ability to increase output.
