Festival has its connections to Slovenian and international theatres and theatre institutes. Therefore it has an important role in performance of national drama as it encourages the staging, production, promotion and also its presentation abroad.

There are many actions that encourage creation of Slovenian drama, like annual playwriting workshops, mentored by renowned Slovenian and foreign playwrights and moreover, reading performances and presentations of the nominated plays. Important contribution is also cooperation with the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television and the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.
