With import growth lagging over 2 percentage points behind export growth, the balance of goods and services rose by a quarter over the year before to EUR 3.6bn.

Capital transfers contributed another EUR 483m, the Statistics Office said on Thursday.

On the other hand, the surplus was reduced by primary revenue (by EUR 310m) and current transfers (by EUR 593m).
