The two are among the 50 SMEs selected from 14 countries in the latest round of the Horizon 2020 instrument, with each receiving up to EUR 2.5m. A total of EUR 73m was available in the programme.

The selected companies will use the funds won to finance innovation activities like demonstration, testing, piloting, scaling up and miniaturisation, in addition to developing a mature business plan for their product, the European Commission said on Monday.

A total of 406 SMEs have been selected to receive funding under this Horizon 2020 instrument since 1 January 2014, including ten Slovenian firms.
