Three chambers of commerce to cooperate on digitalization
The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS), the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce pledged to take part in meeting the goals of the Digital Slovenia 2020 strategy, along with the Slovenian government and other stakeholders.
The aim of the cooperation is to help digitalise Slovenian businesses and make the country referential in the EU's Digital Single Market agenda, the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce said in a press release on Thursday.
They also wish to raise awareness on the importance of new technologies, especially by supporting Industry 4.0, also called the fourth industrial revolution, an internartional initiative involving the digitalisation of production processes based on devices autonomously communicating with each other along the value chain.
"Industry 4.0 or the digitalisation of businesses and production is real. The letter of intent shows that all developing projects, such as country digitalisation, require networking and cooperation," Gertrud Rantzen, president of the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce.
The letter of intent was signed by the chambers' representatives at a meeting in Bled on the Industry 4.0 initiative, which was organised on Wednesday by the Slovenian-German Chamber of Commerce.
