Management board member Blaž Brodnjak has been in charge of the bank since the February resignation of Janko Medja.

The call, which was published in the daily Delo and on the bank's website, will also be published in the British paper Financial Times on 28 April.

Medja resigned on 5 February three years into his five-year term after it became clear that he had lost the trust of the owner.

Brodnjak stepped in temporarily and while former NLB board member David Benedek and chief administrator in the bankrupt Probanka bank Igo Gruden were initially mentioned among potential successors, there has been increasing speculation in the media that Brodnjak could get a full term.
