The 58th International Wine Competition - Vino Ljubljana

Ljubljana was granted this title by the OIV, the International Organization for Wine and Wine from Paris, due to the thousand-year old wine tradition as well as to the internationally renowned event Vino Ljubljana, having been organized by the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre since 1955.

The 58th International Wine Competition is the oldest one worldwide. From 17 to 19 June, over 450 samples from more than 20 countries will be evaluated by 40 tasters from Japan, Italy, Macedonia, Germany, Canada, Montenegro, Austria, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Argentina, Spain, Sweden, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Among them will be, this year again, Gsilain K. Laflame from Canada, President of VinoFed, the World Federation of Wine Competitions.

In the middle of June, wine samples will compete for prestigious awards which will be granted at the ceremonial opening of the Wine Fair, the second part of Vino Ljubljana event that will take place at the GR - Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre on 20 and 21 October. Food and Wine, Youth and Wine, Music and Wine, Profession and Wine are among several topics which will promote wine-drinking culture. Here's to you, Vino Ljubljana!
