Slovenian goalkeeper Oblak makes best team of Champions League
Oblak and Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich were the only two goalkeepers announced by the UEFA to be among the best players of the latest Champions League season.
"A mainstay of the team coached by Diego Simeone, with eight goals allowed in 13 matches is the measure of his success," UEFA said.
The rest of the best team comprises defenders Godin and Juanfran (Atletico Madrid), Sergio Ramos, Thiago Silva and Marcelo (Real Madrid), midfielders Gabi and Koke (Atletico Madrid), Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona) and forwards Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) and Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale (Real Madrid).
Oblak was unable to become the first Slovenian to win the UEFA Champions League, as his club lost following a penalty shoot out.
