Museums and galleries from around the country will open their doors until midnight, inviting visitors to a number of events as part of the annual Museum Summer Night.

From 6 PM until midnight, over 80 institutions in more than 50 towns around Slovenia will open their doors for exhibition launches, guided tours, workshops as well as other one-off events only feasible at night.

As part of the 14th Museum Summer Night, the Museum of Technology will feature a presentation dubbed Crime Scene that will be carried out by the National Forensic Laboratory and the Brežice Regional Museum will feature a concert termed A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The Škocjan Caves Regional Park will meanwhile host a guided tour dubbed Mystical Time of Solstice and the Ecomuseum of Pivka Disappearing Lakes will take visitors out for a gathering by the fire.

The project does not have topical guidelines, but several institutions decided this year to mark Slovenia's 25th anniversary, the project coordinator Irena Marušič said.

Among others, the National Assembly will host an exhibition on the country's independence and its symbols and the National Museum of Contemporary History will host an exhibition of works selected in a photography and literary competition to mark the anniversary.
