The festival will see 24 evening screenings with the biggest arthouse hits of the past year and several advance premieres.

The Film Under The Stars festival, a joint project of the Kinodvor cinema and Ljubljana Castle, will feature as many as eight pre-premieres, including Pedro Almodovar's "Julieta", Michael Moore's "Where to Invade Next" and Don Cheadle's "Miles Ahead".

According to Kinodvor, the programme will also feature a selection of the biggest titles of the past season. These will feature Berlin International Film Festival winner "Taxi" by Jafar Panahi, Cannes Festival winner "Lobster" by Yorgos Lanthimos and "Spotlight" by Tom McCarthy, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Some of Kinodvor's blockbusters will also be featured including "Amy", a documentary on Amy Winehouse by Asif Kapadia and the fantasy adaptation of "The Jungle Book" by Jon Favreau.

The festival will close with a pre-premiere of Paul Greengrass's "Jason Bourne", the latest instalment of the Bourne film series.

The screenings will start each evening at 9:30 PM in their original language with Slovenian subtitles. Films that are not in English will also have English subtitles to appeal to a wider audience.
