US and Slovenian troops practise procedures in air operations
The exercise, beginning at the Cerklje ob Krki airfield on Monday, will see members of the Slovenian Armed Forces and of the US Air Forces in Europe practise tactical procedures in strategic air operations.
The troops will practise building makeshift airfield capacities, response to crisis events and parachuting, the Defence Ministry has announced.
In the final part of the drill on Thursday and Friday, they will also use blank ammunition in practising defending the air base.
The exercise will be supported by the Slovenian Pilatus aircraft and the US Hercules transport aircraft. These will be flying at low altitudes on Monday and Saturday between 10 AM and 3 PM and between Tuesday and Friday between 4 PM and 10 PM.
