Economy minister receives delegation from Tartastan

The pair continued the talks from April, when Počivalšek paid a visit to Tartastan, agreeing that cooperation between Slovenia and Tartastan should be nurtured.

Business cooperation in particular should be nurtured and the conditions created for the expansion of cooperation between companies from various fields despite the current EU-imposed sanctions against Russia, Počivalšek and Titov agreed.

The delegation from Tartastan also paid a visit to the Agra international agricultural fair that is under way at Goranja Radgona as part of its visit to Slovenia.

The officials praised the organisers and exhibitors and the round table debates and lectures that enable the transfer of know-how, the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology said.

Tatarstan is one of Russia's most successful and dynamically developing regions with excellent geostrategic location, being located relatively near Moscow with good connections to the eastern, western as well as northern and southern parts of the country.

It is rich in natural resources and boasts a versatile industry and highly trained staff.

The most potential for cooperation with Slovenia has been detected in pharmaceutical industry, telecommunications, automotive, agriculture and tourism.

Slovenia is also interested in taking part in the projection and construction of sport facilities for major sport events Kazan is to host in the future.
