The minister has been joined in Paris by representatives of the Slovenian Sovereign Holding, the Bank Asset Management Company, the SPIRIT investment promotion agency and the Employers' Association.

"France is the fifth most important trade partner for Slovenia," Počivalšek said at the conference, noting that bilateral trade in goods had exceeded EUR 2bn last year, while exchange in services reached EUR 329m.

Companies from France are the seventh most important investors in Slovenia, with the total value of their investments in the country standing at EUR 634m last year.

The conference is organised by the MEDEF employer federation, which associates umbrella corporations and organises around 140 global investment meetings every year, enabling businesses to look for new partnerships and deals.

As part of the visit to France, Minister Počivalšek also met French Finance Minister Michel Sapin to discuss topical issues, cooperation in social entrepreneurship, and the Franco-Slovenian strategic partnership.
