Slovenia beat Slovakia to get fist win in World Cup qualifiers
Slovenia had a solid first half, putting pressure on the Slovaks right out of the gate in front of more than 10,000 fans in Stožice Stadium, and having several good opportunities which however produced no goal.
The second half also saw Slovenia as the better team, but the fans needed to wait until the 74th minute, when midfielder Rok Kronaveter scored after coming in as substitute just a few minutes earlier.
It was the first goal for the national team for the member of Olimpija Ljubljana.
Slovenia will continue the World Cup qualifiers in group F on Tuesday by hosting England, and then have a one-month break before taking on Malta on the road on 11 November.
