Pahor and Macri are expected to discuss ways to enhance political end economic links between their countries, as well as the relationship between Argentina and the EU and topical international issues.

Pahor is also scheduled to meet Emilio Monzo, the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, and Adalberto Rodriguez Giavarini, the head of the Argentine Council for International Relations.

At the weekend, Pahor will hold a series of meetings with the Slovenian community in Argentina, which is estimated to count some 30,000 expatriates and their descendants.

Pahor is being accompanied by Minister for Slovenians Abroad Gorazd Žmavc and Boštjan Žekš, who visited the Slovenian community in Argentina in 2010 in his then capacity as diaspora minister.
