Slovenia's exports up 5.1%, imports 10.5% higher in November

The export/import ratio was 99.3%, which makes November the second month in 2016 with a deficit in trade in goods, the Statistics Office reported on Monday.

Imports in particular as well as exports were boosted by stronger trade EU member states with almost 80% of Slovenia's merchandise imports coming from these markets, and 75.6% of exports generated there.

Exports to the EU in November amounted to EUR 1.666bn, a rise of 2.4% over November 2015, while imports shot up by 7% to EUR 1.774bn.

Exports to EU non-member countries rose by 14.6% to EUR 538.7m and imports from there surged by 27% to EUR 445.7m.

In the eleven months to the end of November, exports increased by 3.8% to EUR 22.928bn and imports added 3.4% to EUR 22.087bn with trade surplus at EUR 841m and the export/import ratio at 103.8%.
