Cerar, who will be accompanied by Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek and Infrastructure Ministers Peter Gašperšič, will present his government's activity in encouraging FDI.

According to the municipality, the prime minister will speak to the press alongside senior European Yaskawa representatives to present Slovenia's participation in the Japanese investment.

The world's biggest industrial robots producer plans to start building its production facility in the town of Kočevje this year, probably in the summer.

Yaskawa has been present in Slovenia for over two decades; it has two companies, Yaskawa Ristro and Yaskawa Slovenija, in Kočevje's neighbour Ribnica.

Having eyed Ribnica and reportedly also Murska Sobota in the north-east as possible locations, Yaskawa announced its plans to build in Kočevje earlier in the month.

The plant, to be built close to the Kočevje industrial zone, is to be completed by the end of 2018, when test production is to be launched.

The EUR 25m investment is to become fully operational in 2019 and initially produce 4,000 robots per year, with its final capacity at 6,000.

It would create 170-200 jobs.

Slovenia will support the investment with an incentive of 20-25% of the project value.
