The SSH said  that NLB had accepted the state's bid for the stake in Petrol at the beginning of the month but would not reveal the value of the transaction.

Petrol's share on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange was worth EUR 325 at the beginning of February, meaning that the stake would be worth EUR 20.5m.

The bank seized the shares as collateral from the Istrabenz holding.

Initially it offered just 1.5% of Petrol stock in mid-September 2016, but seeing that the response was good, it decided to halt the procedure and offer its entire stake instead two months later.

The SSH holds a 19.7% stake in Petrol and Slovak-Czech financial group J&T a little below 13%. Together with the Bank Asset Management Company and the SSH-affiliated Pension Fund Management the state holds just over 30% in Petrol.
