Easter Sunday celebrated

On Easter Eve many went to their local churches to bless the food they will eat on Easter Sunday.

A typical basket taken to church includes "pirhi", the elaborately decorated hard-boiled eggs, as well as ham, horse radish, the potica cake, and selected local specialities.

Today, religious and many non-religious families will get together for the traditional breakfast, often followed by mass.

The extended weekend will run until Easter Monday, a public holiday.
