On Saturday and Sunday, Maribor is hosting international shows of all breeds of dogs, dubbed CACIB Maribor and CACIB Pohorje 2017, each of them showcasing more than a thousand dogs.

Most exhibitioners traditionally come from Italy, Slovenia and Austria, but they have been joined by dog owners from Ireland, Turkey and as far as Japan and Indonesia.

As many 180 different breeds are being on show, most of them Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, Border Collies, French Bulldogs and Golden Retrievers.

Visitors will also be able to see some of the rarely seen and rare breeds such as the Tosa, Thai Ridgeback Dog and the Catalan Sheepdog.

On Easter Monday, Maribor will host the Interra 2017 world show of terriers, the first such event to be held in Slovenia.
