Judoka Trstenjak defends European champion title
This is the fifth medal at European judo championships for Trstenjak, who is also the reigning Olympic and world champion in the category.
In the gold medal match, the 26-year-old from Celje defeated Margaux Pinot of France after four and a half minutes of extended time.
"The fights were extremely difficult, especially the finale, which was extremely long, but I'm happy that I made it," Trstenjak told the press.
Trstenjak won the second medal for Slovenia in Poland, with Adrian Gomboc grabbing silver in the men's 66 kg category on Thursday.
Slovenia will make two more appearances at the tournament on Saturday, with Mihael Žgank competing in the men's 90 kg category and Klara Apotekar in the women's 78 kg category.
