Židan is to meet Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang and Agriculture Minister Han Changfu. Accompanied by Changfu, he will also attend the International Tea Expo 2017.

Meetings with the heads of the national forestry and food safety agencies are scheduled, as is the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the national food safety agencies on control of food products during exports and imports.

On Thursday evening, Židan will attend the opening of a production plant, a joint venture between Slovenian maker of in-wheel electric motors Elaphe and a Chinese partner.

The visit comes on the heels of Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek's attendance of the first Belt and Road summit in Beijing and is a part of enhanced cooperation between the two countries.

Slovenia's main interest is in exporting food to China and several Slovenian companies have already been cleared to export milk, wine and fish products to China.
