Employment outlook remains upbeat
The net employment outlook for the third quarter is at +12%, compared to a record +22% in the second quarter and +17% in the first quarter, shows the survey released on Tuesday.
The net outlook is the product of 13% of the employers surveyed planning additional hiring, 1% planning layoffs and 83% forecasting their headcount will remain unchanged.
Overall, the outlook is positive across all 10 industries, all regions and all company sizes.
The net employment outlook ranges from a record +18% in logistics and communications to +16% in manufacturing, +11% in the hospitality industry and +6% in social services.
Compared to the previous quarter, the outlook deteriorated in eight of the ten industries, with hospitality industries registering the biggest drop, 23 percentage points.
Year-on-year, the outlook improved in nine of the ten industries, with construction registering the steepest rise, 14 percentage points.
