Bad bank ahead of schedule in asset disposal

With the EUR 1bn inflow threshold required for 2019 already achieved in May 2017, BAMC is "by far surpassing the minimal requirement set in the Guidelines on BAMC operations," the bad bank said on Friday.

In the first five months of this year the bad bank also surpassed the annual EUR 200m target, having already generated EUR 227m of inflows by the end of May.

Overall, the inflows have helped the bad bank almost halve its cumulative debt of EUR 2bn while debt servicing costs were reduced by EUR 40m over two years when it rolled over EUR 1.7bn-worth of loans.

As of 31 May, the BAMC portfolio contained over 2,000 claims, properties and ownership stakes valued at just over a billion euros.
