Majka, racing for Bora Hansgrohe, secured the first place in the final climb ahead of Giovanni Visconti of Italy and Australian Jack Haig.Majka took the overall lead after the royal, 167.7 km mountain stage and has likely secured the overall victory of the Tour of Slovenia.

Young Tadej Pogačar (Rog) was the best Slovenian cyclist today. He came in fifth, behind Gregor Mühlberger of Austria, and took the white jersey of the best young rider.

Other Slovenian cyclists were slower, with Jan Polanc, who is riding for Team Emirates, placing just behind the top ten.

Luka Mezgec, the overall leader after the first two stages, had a good run in the beginning but it turned out he was just helping his teammate Haig and not attacking top spots.

Another Slovenian, Žiga Grošelj of Adria Mobil, was meanwhile in a group of cyclists that escaped the main caravan. Their flight ended before the final climb to Rogla. For a while, Matej Mugerli, another Slovenian, joined the group.
