The business delegation, which started the visit in Chicago, consists of representatives of 24alife, A Business Solutions, Delamaris, Mikropis, NIL, Litostroj Ravne and Plastika Skaza and will visit the global headquarters of aircraft producer Boeing, retailer Walgreen Co. and several other companies.

They will also meet Slovenia's honorary consul in Illinois John Vidmar and the Slovenian community there.

The second part of the trip will take the delegation to Minneapolis and Saint Paul in Minnesota, which is the second biggest business hub in the US Midwest, the AmCham said as it announced the visit.

Minnesota is the base of operations of the largest privately held corporation in the US Cargill and the non-profit medical practice and medical research group Mayo Clinic. Slovenian Mikropis has been doing business with the latter for year and will enhance cooperation during the visit.

The delegation will also visit companies 3M and Medtronic, one of the biggest medical equipment companies.

"The US remains a market of business opportunities, also for Slovenian companies, which can unlock their potential in numerous branches, regions and states," AmCham executive director Ajša Vodnik said in the press release.

Also paying a visit to the country is a delegation of the Slovenian Tourist Board (STO), which will stay there until Friday. Slovenian tour operators will present their offer to one of the most promising distant markets for Slovenia as part of a Feel Slovenia event in New York and a workshop in Toronto.
