The Žalec-based company signed the deal on Thursday at Mayo Clinic headquarters in Rochester, Minnesota, as part of a visit by a delegation of Slovenian companies organised by the Slovenian AmCham.

Mikropis, which has been developing the 24alife solution, including a mobile application, for seven years, and which has been cooperating with Mayo Clinic for years, labelled the deal as a new major breakthrough.

The partnership deal aims at developing and expanding 24alife around the world, and makes Mayo Clinic an official partner of 24alife, a solution which includes know-how from numerous fields, including medicine, sport, psychology and nutrition.

Cooperation with Mayo Clinic will enable users to get access to a wide range of professional content, research and other know-how developed by the clinic's experts, while Mikropis will continue to provide information support to the solution, which follows an individual everywhere by means of smart devices.

"This is a mutually beneficial partnership," said Mikropis director and the creator of 24alife Janez Uplaznik. "The common goal of both organisations is to act in the field of preventive medicine and raise awareness and guide people towards a healthier and happier life."

Uplaznik added that Mikropis and Mayo Clinic had recognised some synergies, for which he believes would contribute to boosting their presence in markets they find the most interesting: Europe, the Middle East, India, China and the US.

In the future, Mikropis will be developing new programmes in cooperation with Mayo Clinic which deal with the most burning problems of the modern lifestyle - obesity and stress, and create programmes tailored to the market needs.

At the same time, Mayo Clinic is entering the ownership of Mikropis with a minority share, which will make Mikropis a part of the Mayo group, the company said.
