Mestni kino Ptuj is opening the 8th Cinema without a Ceiling

For the eighth consecutive year, Cinema without a Ceiling has a pleasant mission: to offer film-lovers the most unforgettable film delicacies of the past cinematographic season in the pleasant atmosphere of a venue under the summer sky. The popular open-air cinema is a project of Mestni kino Ptuj (Ptuj City Cinema), which, as a member of the Slovenian Art Cinema Association and the global Europa Cinemas network, shows excellent films throughout the year and contributes greatly to the development of film culture in the Podravje region.
The open-air cinema's program will once again be comprised of masterpieces of diverse genres, geographical origin, and style. In seven days, the core of the program will offer nine evening open-air screenings. Special morning screenings for children and families will take place in Mestni kino Ptuj - two for younger and one for older children, and one for young parents with babies. The kids' screenings will be accompanied by creative workshops.

Cinema without a Ceiling 2017 will begin on Friday, 30 June, at 9.30 PM with the screening of South Korean film The Handmaiden (Ah-ga-ssi, Chan-wook Park, 2016), a luxurious and sensual mix of drama, romance, comedy and crime.

In case of bad weather, the evening screenings will move to Mestni kino Ptuj.

The films will be screened in the original language with Slovenian subtitles.
