As the date of the referendum was, it became clear that the second track will be the "show of the summer", the paper says in the commentary entitled Track of the Summer.

It will be a test before next year's general election to see who supports the opposition Democrats (SDS) and who supports Prime Minister Miro Cerar. Ironically, those who are neither for SDS leader Janez Janša nor for Cerar but for the rail project do not know what to do, the paper says.

According to Primorske novice, the turnout quorum will be difficult to achieve. "It may happen that Cerar will still witness a pre-election shovel being dug into an inception of a new track, but the first train on the second track is at least two more governments away."
