The fair will partner up with China and its main event will be a 16+1 meeting of Central and Eastern European countries with China.

The 55th international agricultural fair, which will also feature a number of other countries and regions, will centre around the international year of sustainable tourism, local food, sustainable agriculture and forest management, said the organiser, the Pomurje Fair.

The 16+1 forum will be one of the most important events in Slovenia this year. It is an initiative of coordination and cooperation, which promotes sustainable and multi-purpose forest management, the protection of wetlands and wild animals, the development of green economy and ecological culture and the implementation of Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

Besides China and Slovenia, the initiative features Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. Slovenia is the one responsible for the coordination in agriculture and forest management.

By presenting Chinese agriculture and food companies the fair will provide an excellent business environment for networking, the organisers said.

This year's Agra will feature not only 150 business and professional events, product quality assessments and the presentation of everything connected with food and agriculture, but also a number of accompanying events.

One of the novelties will be the goulash cook-off competition, featuring tourist organisations from all over Slovenia, which will take place on the first day of the fair in the centre of Gornja Radgona and will be part of the Radgona night.
