The festival will open at Bled Castle with a performance of the Korean percussion Duo Bud, which continues to surprise with new collaborations and musical explorations.

Spanish singer Amparo Velasco, also known as La Negra, will take the stage on Friday, while Saturday will be a treat for fans of Bosnian Sevdah music, as the Bled Festival Hall will host one of the biggest stars of this melancholic genre Amira Medunjanin.

Slovenian folk music will be celebrated on the lakeside promenade on Sunday with the help of the Jesenice-Kranjska Gora wind orchestra, which will be joined by mezzo-soprano Monika Bohinec, soloist of the Vienna State Opera, tenor Klemen Torkar, and the Vox Carniola mixed choir from Jesenice.

Another highlight is scheduled on Monday, when Japanese pianist Hiromi, who was the main star of last year's Ljubljana Jazz Festival, will join forces with groundbreaking Columbian harpist Edmar Castaneda.

Other major names to mark this year's festival include the afro-pop Orchestra Baobab from Senegal, pianist and composer Omar Sosa, kora virtuso Seckou Keita, and Mali guitarist Vieux Farka Toure.
