Maribor delegation will meet  representatives of tour operators and tourist agencies where they will introduce synergies and establish links for future cooperation based on tourist packages designed for Chinese tourists with the aim to make them stay in and discover Europe from the second largest city in Slovenia, from where, according to the plans, there will shortly be scheduled flights to and from China.

Gregor Bezlaj -member of MPTB council emphasis the importance of Chinese investment  into Maribor airport and special attention will be given to the competition in the field of organisation of sport events, as well as to the wine - a unique story of the oldest grapevine in the world which grows in Maribor and which will be genuinely presented by Maribor Queen of Wine, Kaja Šerbinek.

Doris Urbančič Windisch - director of the Maribor-Pohorje Tourist Board said that the story of Maribor and Slovenia told in China will be the one of premium quality tourist products which will be endorsed by attributes that make us particularly attractive on the global scale.  "We are a safe destination, our water is drinkable everywhere, the air here is fresh and unpolluted, our country is green and forested, and we offer home-made organic foodstuffs. Most probably, Maribor airport will play an important role in the future, and thus we shall get prepared to welcome Chinese tourists. Tourism trade is an excellent opportunity to see for ourselves how and with what promotional material we can attract and welcome Chinese tourists and what activities can make them come and stay in our destination."

Maribor delagation will be presented at  Xi'an Silk Road Tourism expo from 4th - 6th August
