Slo airports record double-digit growth in passenger transport

Air passenger traffic in Europe grew by an average 9% in the first half of the year for what ACI Europe director general Olivier Jankovec described as the best half-year results in the last ten years, the web portal Travel Daily News reported.

Slovenia is in the group of countries that saw double-digit growth, along with the Benelux countries, Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Croatia.

ACI Europe ascribes the record figures to a combination of one-time and structural factors, such as a recovery after terrorist attacks, higher demand in Russian Turkey, a stronger economy and crude oil prices.
