Bled Strategic Forum examining changing world
The forum will open with addresses by Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec, Prime Minister Miro Cerar, President Borut Pahor and the EU's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.
It will be followed by a leaders' panel featuring among others OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria, First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans and Ana Brnabić, Serbia's new prime minister.
Over a dozen panels on Monday and Tuesday will see discussions on the role of the EU in the changing world, EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, global nuclear governance, water security, Twitter diplomacy, and fake news.
At the Business BSF, the business-oriented segment of the forum, the focus will be on innovation and leadership.
The event is also an opportunity for high-level talks. Foreign Minister Erjavec is thus scheduled to meet Timmermans, Mogherini and Gurria as well as the foreign ministers from Moldova, Romania and Hungary.
The BSF is organised by the Foreign Ministry in conjunction with the Centre for European Perspective.
