Mercator crisis manager finds no loss from Agrokor insolvency
"All transactions... comply with the principles of diligence, good management and credibility," said Planteu, who will present the three-month report in more detail at a press conference later today.
He was appointed board member by the government on 8 May under a law allowing the cabinet to install a temporary crisis manager in systemically important companies if it is established that the majority owner is in insolvency procedure and is believed to be diverting funds from the company.
"The company did not grant any guarantees, loans, sureties or similar commitments to its majority shareholder... or to any company affiliated to it," says the report, adding that Mercator also did not make any payments on behalf of Agrokor.
"Moreover, the company did not directly or indirectly approve or grant any loan, advance payment, or similar instrument or goods credit and did not pay for any services to the majority shareholder or any company affiliated to it, without the consent of the extraordinary management board member."
The report, which was posted on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange webpage, underlines that the entire management board of Mercator "places particular stress on risk management pertaining to the balance of receivables from the Agrokor Group companies".
The report details transactions between 8 May and 8 August. The government will also take note of the document. A similar report will be drafted for the entire year.
