The festival is designed as a way to showcase high-quality European film production from top-tier festivals, with a special emphasis on the Mediterranean.

The films in the competition programme range from The Last Ice Hunters by Slovenian directors Jure Breceljnik and Rožle Bregar to Gurinder Chadha Viceroy's House and Stephanie Di Giusto's The Dancer.

The country in focus will be the United Kingdom. There is also a special section for Slovenian film, biopics and children's films.

The awards will be handed out on Saturday. One recipient has already been revealed: legendary Slovenian actor Boris Cavazza will receive an award for his contribution to Slovenian film.
