Maribor are hosting Liverpool in the third round of the group play, after drawing the opener with Spartak Moscow at home 1:1 and losing to Sevilla on the road 0:3. The opponent in Group E is winless too, having scored two draws.

Liverpool will thus look for their first win in the group stage in the sold-out Ljudski vrt stadium, and the host team is aware that the English will be offensive-minded today.

Maribor, who have lost striker Luka Zaković to injury, will be looking for opportunities with courageous play, but will not headlessly attack Liverpool's goal from the first minute, according to the head coach.

"We played the first match at home very good, and we need to build on this. We know everything about this club, and it is very important for us to reach a high level. We will play an exceptional game," Milanič announced.

Midfielder Aleks Pihler is aware that the match with Liverpool will be a career highlight for some of his team mates. "The fact is that we cannot wait for the match to start. We are aware of who is coming to Ljudski vrt".

The German coach of the English team Jürgen Klopp meanwhile told the press in Maribor last evening that it was time Liverpool remembered it was a great team and showed it.

Still, he described Maribor as a good, offensive team, which has proven its quality and will moreover be playing at a sold-out stadium.

The match will see around 1,000 Liverpool fans, and several hundreds more who did not get tickets will watch it on a big screen in Leon Štukelj Square, the largest square in Slovenia's second city.
